The essay focuses on the development of the enduring alliance between Syria and Iran which dates back to almost three decades ago. The author attempts to examine the Syrian-Iranian alliance within the context of regional politics and international developments. She later argues unless there is a regime change in Tehran and/or Damascus, Syria and Iran will be dependent on their alliance to further their geopolitical interests in the future.
